The NC Blueberry Festival Turns Up the Heat with the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off!

BURGW –  The NC Blueberry Festival Association is proud to announce the return of one of its newest and spiciest traditions — the 2nd Annual NC Blueberry Festival Chili Cook-Off!

Set for Saturday, Nov. 15, in the heart of Historic Downtown Burgaw, at Dees Park on Courthouse Ave, this fiery competition will once again bring together talented cooks, hungry chili lovers, and community spirit in a celebration of flavor and fun.

Last year’s inaugural cook-off was a resounding success, drawing crowds of locals and visitors eager to sample creative chili recipes and cheer on their favorite teams. This year promises even more excitement with expanded team entries, more prizes, live music by Justin Cody Fox, merchandise, and family fun.

Here’s what attendees can expect:
  • A Sizzling Competition: Dozens of chili teams battling for top honors.
  • Delicious Tastings: $10. Donation for tasting tickets and you get to sample from a wide variety of chili styles — from mild and savory to bold and blazing hot.
  • Community fun, Live entertainment by Justin Cody Fox, and, of course, the NC Blueberry Festival’s signature hospitality.
The Chili Cook-Off brings together everything we love about our community, including food, family, and fun,” said Crystal Clair Batts, Executive Director. “It’s the perfect warm-up to our main event, the NC Blueberry Festival held the third weekend in June, and we can’t wait to see everyone out there supporting their favorite teams.”
