The Pender County Museum Re-Opens

Pender County Museum Re-Opened after being closed for months renovations to the museum with new exhibits and an Open House on Thursday, February 8, from 1 to 4 pm.

The building that the museum is home to is the first brick house built in Burgaw in 1917. The house is also known as the Burton-Noel House. The home was donated to the Pender County Historical Society in memory of Kate Buck Noel.

The two new exhibits feature the steamboat era and the Canetuck Rosenwald School, which is one of the best-preserved Rosenwald Schools in the region and located in Pender County.

The Pender County Museum is located in the downtown area of Burgaw at 200 W. Bridger St. The museum is open Thursdays and Fridays from 1 pm until 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am until 2 pm.
