248th-anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge

The upcoming 248th-anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge
 
Currie, NC- On Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, Moores Creek National Battlefield will be commemorating the 248th Anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Park staff, park partners, volunteers, and other living historians will be offering a variety of programs and demonstrations throughout the weekend.
 
The event will begin with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at 10:00 am on Saturday the 24th. Demonstrations and programs will include battle commemoration programs at 12 and 3:30 pm on Saturday the 24th and 1:00 and 3:30 pm on Sunday the 25th, performances by the Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps on Saturday Feb. 24, and the Wilmington Police Pipes and Drums on Sunday the 25th, as well as playing 18th-century toys and games, blacksmithing, candle making, Loyalist and Patriot programs, guest speakers, guided tours, and more! The park will also be hosting the 2nd Division Marine Corps Band for a special performance on Saturday the 24th at 2:00 pm.
