Ocean Fest

Ocean Fest, To Surf & Protect

October 13 & 14 Surf City, NC - FREE admission!

An Award-winning, Nonprofit eco-friendly, surf, arts, & music festival.

Ocean Fest continues to strive toward educating the community about the ocean and the ecological threats that exist for our marine environments while teaching and incorporating ways we all can better protect those environments.

Ocean Fest is a two-day festival that not only benefits but raises awareness around the ocean. The festival includes live music, arts, a 5K, and surfing, along with eco-friendly-focused attractions and nonprofits.

The primary mission of Ocean Fest is to celebrate and protect Mother Ocean while educating the community about ways we can better protect our marine environments. The event is free for the community to attend; and as a nonprofit organization, event proceeds are used to continue the annual festival as well as to support additional like-minded nonprofit organizations with these meaningful monetary donations.

A major focus of Ocean Fest continues to be their Eco Zone, where a curated group of local and national environmental nonprofits set up booths to interact with festival goers, teaching them ways to be better stewards of our environment and giving them the tools necessary to act in their daily lives. The Eco Zone is in the highest-traffic area to ensure the message of Ocean Fest. Ocean Fest uses every opportunity of the event to promote and teach environmentally friendly topics and values of Sustainability, Stewardship, and Stoke.

Ocean Fest not only practices composting, recycling, and trash separation but also provides volunteers at each station to educate and raise awareness about the practices to the public/visitors. No event is “Zero-waste” but given the size of the festival, the reduced amount of waste produced by the event is aspirational for many others.
