Historical society to host Colonial Topsail in America 250 Celebration TOPSAIL BEACH – The Historical Society of Topsail Island, in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, is kicking off the year with Colonial Topsail, an event featuring children’s activities, guest speakers, a “tea party” on the Intracoastal Waterway, demonstrations by weavers and spinners, an encampment of reenactors, and Virginia Reel dance lessons. Colonial Topsail will take place on Feb. 21, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Assembly, 720 Channel Blvd, Topsail Beach. Admission is free. The event will feature a “Colonial Lunch” of Brunswick Stew, cornbread, a drink, and dessert for $12 per person. Reservations are required and should be made at https://topsailhistoricalsociety.org. “We are pleased to kick off America's 250th anniversary with Colonial Topsail,” said Kim McClusky, the A250 committee chair. “Our region has significant Revolutionary War history. Colonial Topsail will be a fun, family-friendly, awareness-raising celebration of our history.”
