Relocation

Pender County is experiencing significant growth, in both the residential and commercial sectors. Residential growth continues with beautiful housing developments in the towns of Burgaw, Surf City and Topsail Beach. The unincorporated community of Hampstead features many new homes as well as beautiful established neighborhoods on the Intracoastal Waterway. At the same time, the area is beginning to witness a dramatic increase in commercial growth as well, particularly along the U.S. 17 corridor. Pender County offers a diverse selection of homes, from family farms, historic homes, and large oceanfront beach homes.

Climate throughout the year is moderate, with mild winters and summers, and broad shoulder seasons. The cost of living throughout the region and the state make it ideal for young professionals seeking to relocate from urban areas, for retirees, or for the “early outs,” wishing to enjoy a lifestyle change. Pender County is home to Pender County Schools, a public education system with a nationally recognized high school.

Pender County Tourism has the resources for prospective newcomers or business owners and operators. We are here to answer your questions. We look forward to working with you, as you consider Pender County as your home.
