Pender County Tourism’s Office and Tourism Development Authority Board is pleased to announce the Official Pender County Tourism Website, www.visitpender.com will launch Wednesday, November 25th 2009. The new site will be ready to promote the very best of what Pender County has to offer visitors and neighbors.
The Authority has been working to identify as many tourism assets as possible to include in a colorful & user friendly website. The site includes general descriptions and multitudes of images showing what a wonderful place Pender County is to visit. Categories include, What To Do, Where To Eat, Where To Stay, Calendar of Events, Interactive Map, Local Flavor Videos, Request Visitor Information, and Partners.
Every business and tourism listing on the website has an image, contact information, web address, and information on how to find them. A website Calendar will list Pender County visitor friendly events. Videos available on the site tell the area’s unique stories. The Partner’s section lists and connects with neighboring and supporting tourism agencies, and includes a “Link To Us” feature that will make it easy for local and regional tourism organizations to link back to us.
The Tourism Office and County IT Department will update the new website frequently with new images and information. And there are already plans to expand the site with new and exciting pages that will draw more visitors to the site, eventually resulting in more and more visitors to beautiful Pender County.
Monique Baker, Pender County Tourism Director said “development of the new web site is a product of the work of a lot of people, and Kathy Cherry (Chair of the Authority), and the members of the Tourism Authority deserve a lot of credit for taking this project on.” Cherry, a member of the Authority for many years said “this is one of the most rewarding accomplishments for the group, and it’s just the beginning in creating an broad-based, exciting tourism industry in Pender County.”
The Authority hopes that citizens and visitors are pleased and excited about the new site, and encourages suggestions to continually improve the site.
